Kimothy has spent more than half her life working for CTV in Ottawa and the Valley as a reporter, producer and anchor. She is a recipient of the “Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal” for her national work as a defender of child abuse victims. Kimothy is also proud to be a “WaterCan Local Champion” to raise awareness about the suffering in some developing countries. This came after her trip to the Philippines as an “Ambassador for World Vision”, and her summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with “ParAthletes of Canada”. Also in 2012 Kimothy – already an award-winning journalist — was recognized by her peers across the country for her touching story about a dying little boy. In 2008 she was also recognized at one of the Ottawa’s “Forty under 40” by the Ottawa Business Journal.
Kimothy gives of her time freely, making about 100 appearances a year for charitable causes. She was a board member for Ottawa Race Weekend from 2006-2011 when it topped 40,000 participants. Kimothy is also an Advisor to the Algonquin College Victimology program, a Y Community Ambassador, a champion for organ donation and SchoolBox and works regularly at CHEO.
