When Ottawa Yoga teacher, Megan Campbell, first began her mission to positively impact the world, one woman at a time, she had no idea how profoundly her journey would ignite such an overwhelming response. It began in 2008 through Yoga workshops exclusively for women, which then donated proceeds to local women’s charities or organizations. After years of sold out workshops and creating a strong, like-minded community Megan was motivated by this response and created Journey of the Yogini (JOY). JOY is a soul based business uniting women through Yoga workshops, retreats, and events that raise awareness and funds for women’s issues at home and abroad. Since its inception in the spring of 2011, JOY’s yoga workshops, retreats, and events have grown exponentially raising over $22,000.00 for local and international charities, such as Harmony House, Interval House, CARE Canada, Developing World Connections, and Because I am A Girl.
Megan has been named one of CTV’s ‘Amazing People’, voted Ottawa’s favorite yoga instructor of 2011 (Faces Magazine), was named an ‘Agent of Peace’ (Nipissing University), selected as an Ambassador for ‘LuLulemon’ for a second time, serves as an Ambassador for the US company I AM., was recently profiled for her dynamic, philanthropic approach to Yoga by ‘Yoga Directory Canada’ twice, and will have her own Yoga show on Rogers Cable in the Fall of 2012.
